Why I built ConstructMind.
I've spent 15 years in project controls.
Infrastructure, energy, building construction. Projects across multiple continents, programmes worth billions, teams of one and teams of forty. I've been the planner writing the schedule at midnight before the baseline is due, and the consultant brought in six months later to explain how a project that looked on track fell apart.
I've sat in rooms where a contractor submitted a programme and nobody not the client, not the engineer, not the planner had the time or the tools to properly review it. I've written bases of schedule after the fact because there was no structured way to document assumptions as they were made. I've watched planners spend three weeks collecting data for a schedule that could have been built in three days if the information had been structured from the start.
These aren't edge cases. They're the normal state of project controls on most projects.
ConstructMind is what I wished I had. Not a tool that replaces planners, I've spent my career as one. But a tool that handles the work planners shouldn't have to do manually, so the people who understand construction programmes can spend their time on the analysis and decisions that actually matter.

Project controls has a data problem. It always has.
Construction is one of the most data-intensive industries in the world. Every project generates thousands of data points quantities, productivity rates, logic relationships, milestone dependencies, resource constraints that need to be synthesised into a coherent schedule.
The tools to do that synthesis have barely changed in thirty years. Planners still spend the majority of their time collecting and formatting data not analysing it. Bases of schedule are still written after the fact, or not at all. Contractor submissions are still reviewed under time pressure that makes proper scrutiny practically impossible.
The result is that project schedules even well-intentioned ones are less defensible, less accurate, and less useful than they should be. Not because planners aren't skilled enough. Because the tools haven't kept up with what the role actually requires
